Kunal Shah on productivity, life hacks and how India can become a successful nation 🔥🔥

Kunal Shah on productivity, life hacks and how India can become a successful nation Kunal Shah is the founder of CRED. He is a fierce learner and has added layers of knowledge through his observation of the world and people. Here are few takeaways where he appeared on a podcast, on productivity and how India will become the superpower of the world. Try to meet more smart people to become smarter. Good people who want to learn all the time will naturally surround themselves with other people who want to learn all the time and that group compounds much faster. Our country will move forward where more people will take risks with their careers. More people taking risks with their careers will result in them creating careers for other people who don't want to take risks.  People who keep complaining about work-life balance either have a shitty life or a shitty job. Watching content, again and again, will not improve your life, taking actions will. Understand the value of time ...

Childhood days and student life
Right from her childhood, she was a brilliant and bright student. She stood well at her academics. She was and is an avid reader and also writes books that give an important message to the society and country in large. Some of her books are Mahashweta, The Old Man and His God: Discovering the Spirit of India, Three Thousand Stitches etc.,
While she was a student and in the starting years of her carrer, she had to face a lot of difficulties. During her days, very few girls had the opportunity to get access to the education. While she started her study in engineering college, it was found that, among 600 students, she was the only girl and the rest 599 were boys. There was no access to washroom for girls, as it had majority of men including teachers and other staff and during those times, a girl studying engineering was hardly seen in India. It was such a painful period but amidst all such difficulties, she came out with flying colours.
When she was doing her M. tech in computer science at Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore, India, one day she came across a notice on notice board that TELCO(TATA Engg. And Locomotive Company) was hiring young graduates and interested students can apply for it….and below that, it was written ‘only men can apply’. Sudha was annoyed and decided to write a letter to JRD Tata seeking justice for women to take up the opportunity. When JRD Tata received the letter, he was displeased with his people and she was given the permission to attend the interview. With her great caliber and skills, she finally became the first female engineer to be hired at India’s largest auto manufacturer, TELCO.

Since the article has been quite lengthy, it has been divided into 2 parts. The next part of her story is really interesting and know why she had to quit her job afterwards...till then stay tuned!!

                          THANK YOU

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Thinking from First Principles - The Physics framework of thinking !! 🔥

First Principles - The Physics framework of thinking!!          "The Earth is flat". This is what people thought, because they could see people, vehicles, all moving in the horizontal direction, until science came and proved it wrong. Like this, in our day to day life, we start assuming things  to be true, that we observe or what people tell us, without thinking whether it is actually true or appearing to be. So how do we know the actual fact? Can we change the way we think? YES... we need to adopt the "First Principles Thinking" method. What is First Principles Thinking?   Why should we use it?         The first time I heard this was from SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk. First principles thinking  is a kind of physics way of looking at the world. It is basically boiling things down to the fundamental truths, that you know are true and reasoning from up there. In mathematics, it is known as an axiom. Normally, what people do i...

Learning the way to learn | How to learn anything ?

Learning the way to learn | How to learn anything?   Many of us say that we know or have knowledge, whenever we are asked about the topic we are familiar with. But does that actually mean you have understood it well enough ? Hmm…           If a friend of yours, comes and asks you to explain about something, you might have told him what you know about the topic but couldn't have explained it clearly or you probably might have confused him even more…  Why does that happen ?  what is it indicating ? Is it indicating the lack of understanding about the topic in us ?   If you want to master something, teach it.                                                                          -Richard Feynman      The Feynman tec...

Why does a football trace a curved path into the net, when kicked?

Why does a football trace a curved path into the net, when kicked?             You might have seen football players, like the most famous Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi scoring some crazy and unbelievable goals. Usually, when they go for a free kick, you see that the path traced by the football is curved rather than straight or a linear path. Footballers use this technique to score incredible goals. Now let’s try to know the science behind it. The reason why football traces a curved path is due to an observable phenomenon called the  " MAGNUS EFFECT" , described first by German physicist Heinrich Gustav Magnus. This is a phenomenon observed not just in football but also in many other sports as well.               Let us try to understand it.         When the football is kicked, it starts moving forward and spins around its axis and the air flow provides opposition to th...
